CANBERRA, ACT
Bek Milne runs the show in Canberra.
Bek has a military background and is a keen State Emergency Services volunteer. More of a road runner than trails, you can convince Bek to hike if there are some photo opportunities on offer. Bek LOVES parkrun and would love to hang out with you at any of the ACT or surrounding events and grab a coffee and breaky afterwards, preferably with bacon on it. park run offers something for everyone because if you don’t run, you can walk or volunteer.
FORSTER, NSW
Shane spent 11 Years in the Army, starting in Artillery, then Ordnance and finishing up as a Marine Specialist. Once separated from the military, he worked in various management roles within 3 different Marine Companies. Shane then went on to set up 2 successful marine businesses and ran them for 4 years until he succumbed to his own Mental Health Issues. After a few years working out the best ways to help improve his own Mental Health, Shane is now an advocate in sharing a more holistic wellbeing pathway with anyone who needs it.
Shane came to Buddy Up Australia wanting to establish a Chapter to help those in his area, and after 2 years is loving the community he has built.
Shane’s passions are Yoga (both teaching and practicing), anything on or under the water, socialising, keeping fit, helping others, and his family. Shane has a partner in Forster, and little girl who lives on the Sunshine Coast; he splits his time between Forster and Mooloolaba.
